Peter Mzungu graduated as an Automotive Engineering Technician in January 1997, starting as
a Motor Assessor at Safety Surveyors Limited. Internally trained as an investigator and loss
adjuster in 1998, specializing in accidents involving Stage Coach Kenya buses, injury incidents,
and loss adjustment cases. Appointed Branch Manager at Safety Surveyors Mombasa in 1999.
In 2001, joined Kibmat Loss Assessors as an Operations Superintendent, focusing on extensive
motor accident assessments. Became Branch Manager at Toplis and Harding International Ltd
in Mombasa in 2003, handling general loss adjustments, marine loss adjustments, and port
liability claims investigations.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Waiel established successful ventures such as
Sadaoui Surveyor, representing major European Insurance companies across multiple
countries. Additionally, he served as a representative for renowned organizations like RESALE Messe and Deutsche Messe AG in Syria, fostering business development and
enhancing trade relations.
Enrolled in the Society of Claims Technicians (SCT) in 2003, majored in Motor claims
investigations, passed SCT exams in 2004, earning the Associate-ship of the Society of Claims
Technicians (ASCT) – MOTOR, later converted to DIPCII (Claims). Managed international
accounts from 2004 to 2006 at Toplis and Harding, handling investigations across various
African countries.
Joined Lion of Kenya Insurance Company Ltd in 2006 as an Assistant Manager in charge of
accident assessments. Appointed to represent AKI at KEBS task force on Used Motor Vehicle
Spare Parts Standards in 2009.
Enrolled as a student at ACFE in Austin, Texas, in 2010, passing ACFE exams in 2015,
becoming a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). In 2022, received Electric Cars Technology
Training from Caetano Salvado.
From 2023 to 2024, conducted seminars on emerging vehicle technologies, including electric
and LPG-propelled cars, for MAAK and AKI member companies. Currently serving as the
Senior Assistant Manager for Motor Assessments and Investigations since 2015.
