His academic journey includes earning the ACII designation from The Chartered Insurance Institute in England (1985-1989) and completing advanced German language courses at the Goethe Institute in Bonn, Germany, in 1990 and 1992.

With a solid foundation, Waiel embarked on a rigorous Insurance Training program from 1991 to 1993 across esteemed Insurance Companies and Associations in Germany. Noteworthy among these were Gerling Konzern, Nordstern, Frankfurter Allianz, and Munich Reinsurance. In his professional capacity, Waiel has held pivotal leadership roles, including Vice Chairman of the Gulf Insurance Group (GIG) Syria (December 2020 – January 2023) and General Manager of Arabia Insurance Company in Syria (June 2018 – December 2020). Acknowledged for his contributions, he served as Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Aleppo province in 2010 and as an authorized loss adjuster and surveyor for the Syrian Insurance Commission since 2007.
